In this era of rapid technological development and media expansion, Taiwan, with its rich cultural DNA rooted in the fusion of diverse ethnicities, is stepping forward with creativity and confidence to keep pace with the world. By passing on the memories of generations, Taiwan continues to weave a unique cultural heritage that thrives on this land.
Taiwan’s first hero comic, Jhuge-Shiro, took the nation by storm when it debuted in 1958 and became a shared memory for generations born in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the comic’s creator, Yeh Hong-chia. To pay tribute to this classic work and combine it with the creative energy of the new generation of comic artists, the “Together, Stronger - 2024 Projection Mapping Show Featuring the Presidential Office Building ” invites audiences to journey through the cross-century classics of Taiwanese comics. Featuring the dynamic artistry of Taiwan’s comic creators, the show revisits original comic stories from different eras, revealing new hero narratives and telling the unique stories of Taiwan. In this new era of Taiwanese comics, the show brings us back to our childhoods, invites us to share in the richness of contemporary culture, and encourages us to come together to co-create Taiwan’s future.
